Really looking forward to this special wine. Supposedly one of the finest examples of a rugged and rustic classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with lots of the things I treasure like black pepper, spice and terroir. When you can taste the earth, the specific place the grapes came from, this is classic terroir characteristic and Le Vieux Donjon apparently expresses this beautifully. This wine is rated 93 points for the 2003 and 94 points for the 2004 - really high. I'm excited to try them... waiting even a few months has been really hard. I read they'll be at their best from 2008 though 2025 and I just know I will never last... |
