2002 Mouton Cadet Bordeaux My first wine choice in the modern era,
because I recognized the name and panicked and wasn't sure what to do once I got
into the shop. Produced by Baron Philippe de Rothschild since about 1930 or so,
it's the #1 selling red world-wide, so I'm not real surprised I did recognize
it. It's a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes. The
best that I can say for this price point and expectation is that it's
"dependably uninspired" but I don't really mean that in a bad way.
I'd like to push myself to be a little more adventurous next time though. |
