Qualities that I like:

Grapes - Well, it seems I'm a Grenache fan.  A southern Rhône valley Grenache fan to be precise.  I'm also a fan of South American Cabernet Sauvignons.

Approachable - Drinkable, easy to enjoy.

Aromatic - Wines of a markedly flowery, spicy or grapey character.

Big - Ample amount of concentrated fruit, character & tannins.

Fruit - The fruit element in a wine may not taste grapey, but it will resemble fruits of various kinds, such as blackcurrant, strawberry, apple.

Oaky - The slightly sweet vanilla flavor imparted by maturation in oak casks... still deciding but I think I prefer French Oak so far as I'm looking for the tannins and some nuancy depth and not just overpowering oaky flavoring.

Soft - Velvety, well-structured, mature tannins with little evident acidity.

Spicy - Exotic fruit and spice flavors in whites, particularly Gewürztraminer, but a real favorite of mine in rich reds, a peppery or cinnamony clovey perfume.
