2013 Update: Proper commercial rack
2000s - such a collection of geeky happiness! I think a
couple of our computers had babies or something...
Yes I realize that's a lot of computers for two people but you must
remember that we're quite geeky, hehe!
The matching linux server cases look oh so pretty (at
least to us they do, hehe!) And look at the runway lights on
that file server, absolutely YUMMY! In between you see the power backup
and the switch that controls the network. Very nice geek toys.
All the old monitors have since been replaced by LCD and the big
clunky computers are slowly being replaced by very much smaller (and
quieter) new technology, so I really should update these photos, but
I'm waiting for the placement to be finalized including wiring all
neat and tidy... could be a while!
Meanwhile here's a pic of my new monitors and some of the new
rack mount cases, which should all end up in the closet OUT OF SIGHT
at some point. 2013 UPDATE: These monitors have already been
replaced with wide screen ones and the rack never made it into the
closet, but it did get a nice upgrade.
I was planning on putting
this mural on the
closet doors but before I could order it, it was discontinued and I
haven't found anything I like nearly as much since. The
"mural wall" is now dominated by
Tashi's "tree
house"
